The Beatles are simply the best. Their songwriting, singing, harmonies and musical perfomance both on stage and in the studio was superior. They were innovators in rock ‘n roll. It is extremely difficult to peg them with any unique Beatles “sound”. They had a wide variety of sounds, always running ahead of the pack. And while it was sad to learn of their breakup in May 1970 at least they left at the top of their game. They didn’t hang around too long and go into artistic decline like so many bands and solo perfomers do. Abbey Road was their last studio album and it is one of their very best. They were and still are the gold standard for a rock ‘n roll band. I really was hoping for a reunion of some sort but when I woke up on the morning of December 9, 1980 and heard the headline news story on the radio I knew that hope was gone forever.

The Beatles are the best pure and simple. They have sold more records than anybody in the world. Therefore more people must like the Beatles more, common sense right. There really isn’t a comparison, why do people even question this fact.
